Certified to the latest standards, train radio is breaking new ground thanks to our MESA®26 radio system. Two aspects in particular characterise the special features of the system: the use of the MT5E radio module, whose integrated filter shields against interference from external networks, and its innovative software, which is characterised by splitting into operating modes - from multi-mode with GSM-R to analogue and LTE.

MT radio modules - mobile radio transceivers in accordance with the current European technical specification for train radio systems (TSI ZSS) with GSM-R and ASCI extensions - are used as the link between the GSM-R network and mobile train radio devices. The module is operated in the GSM-R frequency range with a maximum transmission power of eight watts. Many of the characteristic values for radio modules are specified more strictly than required by the GSM standard. In the special environment of the railway industry, this ensures maximum reliability and availability.
