Effective passenger information requires up-to-date information for travellers about their travel plans – fast and accessible. In addition to the installation of modern display systems, this also includes a high quality sound system in order to acoustically provide travellers with the most important information, or to warn against fast-moving trains thereby ensuring the safety of passengers on the train platform. 

The Cura® product family is a compact and scalable IP-sound system developed by Funkwerk that combines the functions of an announcement device and a sound system in one unit. The complete system is low-maintenance due to its lack of moving parts. Its modular design enables optimum adaptation to our clients’ specific project requirements.

Cura®

Based on current IP-technology, the Cura® sound system provides fully digital signal processing and enables the simultaneous emission of up to eight different announcements. With the integration of text-to-speech synthesis (multi-lingual) acoustic information can be emitted in multiple languages or voices.

 The system works on the basis of a state-of-the-art ARM-processor. This enables high-performance processing of all audio functions required for high quality customer information. In this way, delay, compressor or automatic adjustment of the volume to the ambient noise is controlled by the Cura® system software in an exceptionally efficient manner.

    Other highlights:

    • Interfaces to integrate existing systems
    • Various amplifier performance classes (100W, 250W and 500W) in order to provide optimum performance for the desired application
    • Amplifiers can also be configured as back-up amplifiers thereby optimally utilising system redundancies
    • Monitoring connected loudspeaker lines for ground fault, impedance, short circuits, wire breakage and/or defective loudspeakers, in order to ensure successful emission of information at all times
