Supervisory Board expands Executive Board of Funkwerk AG

Kölleda, 27 June 2018 - At its ordinary meeting on 26 June 2018, the Supervisory Board of Funkwerk AG decided to expand the company's Executive Board. It appointed Dr Andreas J. Schmid as a full member of the Executive Board of Funkwerk AG with effect from 1 August 2018.

Dr Andreas J. Schmid (51) studied physics at the Technical University of Munich and completed his doctorate in electrical engineering and information technology at the Technical University of Darmstadt. In his industrial career to date, he has held various management positions, including at Siemens AG, Festo AG and the FCT Group. For the last five years, he has been Managing Director of Schaltbau GmbH, Munich, where he was responsible for components and systems for transport technology.

Dr Schmid is a technologically broad-based executive with international experience in the railway industry. In future, he will represent Funkwerk AG together with Kerstin Schreiber.
