Kölleda, 27 May 2025 - Funkwerk AG, one of the leading technology providers of innovative communication, information and security systems as well as technical services, started the 2025 financial year with a strong first quarter: despite a challenging global economic climate, consolidated revenue increased by 38 % year-on-year to €44.7 million (previous year: €32.4 million). This considerable increase was based on a high order backlog, which was specifically strengthened by the conclusion of several large-volume framework agreements in the previous year. At the end of March 2025, the Funkwerk Group's group-wide order backlog amounted to EUR 279.8 million (31/03/2024: EUR 188.8 million; 31/12/2024: EUR 278.2 million). Incoming orders decreased slightly in the first three months compared to the same period of the previous year to € 46.3 million (previous year: € 47.9 million).
The Funkwerk Group's operating result (EBIT) improved quarter-on-quarter from €2.5 million to €4.7 million. After taxes, a net profit for the period of EUR 3.1 million (previous year: EUR 1.2 million) was reported.
The good asset and financial position remained extremely stable and reflects the typical course of business in the first few months of a financial year. The equity ratio rose to 59.0 % at the end of March 2025 (31 Dec. 2024: 57.8 %), while cash and cash equivalents amounted to EUR 48.6 million (31 Dec. 2024: EUR 48.9 million). As at 31 March 2025, Funkwerk employed 772 people across the Group (31/03/2024: 733), excluding trainees, with new hires in all four divisions.
Outlook for 2025 as a whole
For the current financial year 2025, the Executive Board of Funkwerk AG continues to expect an increase in revenue to between € 190 million and € 200 million (2024: € 178.4 million) and an operating result in the range of € 20 million to € 25 million (2024: € 23.5 million). The long-term corporate strategy, supported by a strong order backlog and a stable financial base, underpins this positive outlook.
Against the backdrop of global uncertainties, all planning is subject to possible geopolitical developments, the effects of which on the market environment can only be predicted to a limited extent at present.
The Funkwerk Group's full Q1 2025 quarterly report will be published on 27 May 2025.
