Preliminary figures for 2017

Kölleda, 26 March 2018 - Funkwerk AG was able to further strengthen its business base in 2017 and noticeably improve its earnings situation: According to preliminary calculations, consolidated sales increased by 0.2 % to €77.6 million (previous year: €77.4 million) and the operating result rose by 31.5 % to an expected €7.2 million (previous year: €5.4 million). The decisive factors for the renewed strong increase in profitability were the fully utilised production capacities over the course of the year, the more favourable composition of sales with larger service and software shares and the absence of extraordinary expenses recorded in the previous year.

In all three business areas (train radio, passenger information and video systems), positive impetus, particularly from the latest developments in both hardware and software, contributed to the successful business development.

The basis for 2018 is also positive: incoming orders in the Group increased by 5.8 % compared to the previous year to EUR 85.2 million (previous year: EUR 80.5 million) and the order backlog as at 31 December 2017 rose to EUR 58.1 million (31 December 2016: EUR 49.9 million).

Based on the positive business development, the Executive Board and Supervisory Board of Funkwerk AG will propose a profit distribution to the Annual General Meeting on 26 June 2018 for the first time since 2008. Accordingly, shareholders are to receive a dividend of EUR 0.25 per share, resulting in a total dividend payout of EUR 2.0 million.

The audited 2017 consolidated financial statements of Funkwerk AG and the outlook for 2018 will be published on 16 April 2018.
