Executive Board of Funkwerk AG is expanded

Kölleda, 23 December 2022 - At its ordinary meeting on 22 December 2022, the Supervisory Board of Funkwerk AG resolved to expand the Executive Board of Funkwerk AG and to appoint Dr Falk Herrmann as a full member of the company's Executive Board with effect from 1 February 2023.

The main reasons for this decision are the significant increase in the size and management complexity of Funkwerk AG in 2022 following the integration of Hörmann Kommunikation & Netze GmbH (KN for short) and the intended implementation of growth strategies in the new security technology business field to be established. In addition, with this step, the Supervisory Board ensures stable management of Funkwerk AG by the Executive Board and thus fulfils the fundamental requirements of precautionary risk management

Dr Falk Herrmann (52) studied precision engineering, measurement and control technology at the Institute of Microtechnology at the Technical University of Braunschweig. During his 20-year career at the Bosch Group, the doctor of engineering has gained international management experience, particularly in the security systems segment. He helped set up the Bosch Research and Technology Centre in Palo Alto, California, and held various positions in the Security Systems division, most recently as CTO of the Global Business Unit Security at Bosch Sicherheitssysteme GmbH. Over the past four years, Dr Herrmann has been Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity GmbH in Munich and has shaped the realignment of this division with a strong focus on security-critical communications in the public sector.

Dr Herrmann will represent Funkwerk AG together with Kerstin Schreiber, who has been a member of the Executive Board of Funkwerk AG since 2013 and will assume the role of Spokeswoman of the Executive Board in the Executive Board team. As part of the newly agreed schedule of responsibilities, the Executive Board members will each be responsible for the following areas:

Kerstin Schreiber (CFO and Spokeswoman of the Management Board):

Management of the „Train Radio“ business unit“
Management of the „Technical Services“ business division“
Interdisciplinary functions in finance and accounting, taxes, controlling and investor relations

Dr Falk Herrmann (CTO):

Management of the „Security Technology“ business area (incl. „Video Systems“ business area)
Management of the „Traveller Information“ business unit“
Cross-divisional functions information technology, cyber security and digitalisation
