Funkwerk AG takes over Hörmann Kommunikation & Netze GmbH

Kölleda, 25 July 2022 - Funkwerk AG, one of the leading technology providers of innovative communication, information and security systems, is taking over Hörmann Kommunikation & Netze GmbH (Hörmann KN), Kirchseeon, from HÖRMANN Industries GmbH, Kirchseeon, which, like Funkwerk, is part of the HÖRMANN Group, with economic effect from 1 January 2022. Hörmann KN, a technical service provider in the fields of communication technology, line construction, energy systems and maintenance & service, acts as a full-service partner for many well-known customers, employs around 200 people and has achieved an average turnover of around EUR 30 million p.a. in the last three years, depending on the project volume. The acquisition expands Funkwerk's service portfolio, particularly for customers in the fields of railway technology and critical infrastructures, where the two companies have extensive overlaps. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Funkwerk and Hörmann KN have already been working together successfully for many years in the expansion of infrastructure that is important for the railway industry, with Hörmann KN taking over the installation of Funkwerk products. „Hörmann KN's good customer relationships in the critical infrastructure sector,“ says Kerstin Schreiber, CEO of Funkwerk AG, „give us the opportunity to increasingly market our product solutions in this area as well as in the security systems and industrial plant construction sectors served by Hörmann KN.“ At the same time, Funkwerk's own significantly larger installation and service capacities with a wide regional reach will enable it to handle more complex tenders in future, which require not only pure delivery but also installation and customised full-service concepts with very short response times. Funkwerk assumes that the demand for such complex enquiries will increase.
