As part of the industry initiative „Railsponsible “*, Funkwerk AG recently underwent a sustainability rating by the independent agency EcoVadis.
Kölleda, 25 February 2019 - As part of the industry initiative „Railsponsible “*, Funkwerk AG recently underwent a sustainability rating by the independent agency EcoVadis. The focus was on our „Corporate Social Responsibility“ (CSR), i.e. the social responsibility of Funkwerk AG in terms of sustainable management. The excellent result of the review is impressive: EcoVadis awarded Funkwerk AG the silver medal in recognition of its CSR efforts! This makes Funkwerk one of the top performers assessed as part of „Railsponsible“.
Dr Johannes Leutloff, CSR Officer at Funkwerk AG: „With this transparent award, we can show our customers that we are not only setting the pace in the technological field. We are now also among the pioneers in the industry when it comes to sustainability.“ Of course, Funkwerk is not resting on its laurels. The rating also highlighted potential for optimisation, which is now being systematically implemented. Because the next goal is already in sight - the gold medal in the course of a follow-up audit.
*Railsponsible„ is an industry initiative founded in 2015 by Deutsche Bahn AG and companies in the rail industry (Alstom, Bombardier Transportation, Knorr Bremse, Dutch State Railways and SNCF). It focuses on sustainable procurement with the aim of continuously improving sustainability practices throughout the railway industry's supply chain.
The aim of the initiative is to improve efficiency in analysing CSR practices in the supply chain and to promote greater transparency in order to meet the increasing demands of stakeholders. At the same time, the initiative aims to improve the environmental, labour and human rights, ethical and sustainable procurement practices of companies through the exchange of best practices and capacity building. www.railsponsible.org
