New partner: Funkwerk co-operates with PKP Telkol

Kölleda, 29 October 2019 - Funkwerk has gained a new strong partner in the GSM-R train radio sector: PKP Telkol will take over the distribution of MESA products in the future®-series in Poland.

The companies announced their future cooperation at a conference in Sterdynia, Poland. The conference was an opportunity for manufacturers of railway equipment and service providers from all over Poland to exchange information on the latest rail market technologies.

The cooperation between Funkwerk and PKP Telkol is focussed on upgrading, retrofitting and maintaining radio systems in locomotives. Poland wants to have converted the analogue train radio system to the digital GSM-R standard by the end of 2024 at the latest. „We are delighted to have PKP Telkol at our side, a partner that has been established in the railway market for many years,“ says Hendrik Holz, Sales Manager of the Funkwerk Group at the Kölleda site (Thuringia), assessing the cooperation.

The Polish partner also openly expresses its appreciation of the German company: PKP TELKOL's sales manager, Zbigniew Stężyński, emphasises: „Implementing such a large number of cab radios in such a short time requires cooperation between the company with the largest implementation and maintenance resources in the country - PKP TELKOL - and the largest manufacturer - Funkwerk.“

PKP Telkol offers specialised telecommunications and maintenance services for the railway sector. For example, the Warsaw-based company is supporting the expansion of the network infrastructure for rail transport in Poland.
