The display and information systems found at many European railway stations are developed and designed at Funkwerk in Karlsfeld. Behind this is a globally deployable software system for local and long-distance transport, which ensures that passengers in the control centres are informed about their travel chain in real time.

Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS) is the future 5G-based communication system for the railways in Europe. It is being developed jointly by the International Union of Railways (UIC) and companies in the railway industry and is co-financed by the European Union.
